1. Introduction
Welcome to IndianAIapps ("we", "our", or "us"), accessible at https://www.indianaiapps.com. We are a curated directory of AI applications built for India — for Indian users, Indian businesses, and Indian languages.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using IndianAIapps, you agree to the practices described here.
This policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and is aligned with the principles of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- App submissions: When you submit an AI app for listing, we collect the app name, description, website URL, category, pricing, and any other details you provide in the submission form.
- Waitlist registration: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: We may collect information about how you interact with the platform — pages visited, search queries, filters applied, and upvotes cast. This helps us improve the product.
- Device and browser information: Standard web server logs may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL.
- Cookies and local storage: We store your language preference and theme preference (dark/light mode) in your browser's local storage so your settings persist across visits. We use session cookies for authentication.
2.3 Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect payment or financial information — the platform is currently free to use.
- We do not collect sensitive personal data such as Aadhaar numbers, PAN, biometric data, health records, or financial account details.
- We do not track your activity across other websites.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the service: Account creation, login, saving your upvotes, and processing app submissions.
- To personalise your experience: Remembering your language preference and theme settings.
- To improve the platform: Analysing usage patterns to understand what content is most useful.
- To communicate with you: Sending submission status updates or important platform notices to your registered email. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
- To maintain security: Detecting and preventing abuse, spam submissions, or fraudulent activity.
- To fulfil legal obligations: Responding to lawful requests from Indian government authorities when required.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use third-party services to operate the platform (listed in Section 5). These providers access only the data necessary to perform their function and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by Indian law, court order, or a request from a competent government authority.
- Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify affected users before any such transfer.
- With your consent: We will share data for any other purpose only with your explicit prior consent.
5. Third-Party Services
We work with carefully selected third-party service providers for authentication, hosting, translation, and AI-powered features. These providers access only the minimum data necessary to perform their specific function and are required to maintain appropriate data security standards.
When you sign in, your authentication is handled by Google — we receive only your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
App content such as descriptions and taglines may be processed by our translation service provider to generate Indian language versions. Only app-related text is transmitted — no personal user data is ever sent for translation.
All other infrastructure and AI services we use are bound by confidentiality agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We use minimal, privacy-respecting browser storage:

| indianaiapps_locale | Local storage | Remembers your chosen language | Persistent |

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. You can clear local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so will log you out and reset your preferences.
7. Data Retention
- Account data (name, email) is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 9).
